Time to get beach body ready!

Finally it's that time of year where most of us (including me) are all white and pasty from winter and the self tan must come out. I find Caribbean Tan works best for me, its a nice natural brown, not orange at all. They also have divided their tan goodies into 3 categories to suit your skin type. A-for pale white skin that burns easily and tans minimally, B-for white/beige skin that tans gradually and C-for tan darker skin that tans well (don't know why they would need it then). So here are the steps and products I use to achieve that sun kissed glow.

  1.   Prep skin: Exfoliating is very important to get an even tan. I use the Caribbean Tan body exfoliant. It really makes your skin feel super soft and smooth. I slather this on while standing in the shower before i shower.
  2. I use the mousse (in B) because it is the least messy and most controlled application out of the 3 types (spay and spritzer). I rub this on in even strokes to make sure I get an even look. Then I carefully but properly wash my hands and use a nail scrubber to make sure your nails don't turn yellow too. If you don't wash your hands and nails after, your hands will look scary, trust me. Unfortunately I haven't mastered this yet so the area around my wrists don't always  look great.
  3. Then I take a towel after washing my hands and just smooth over my fore arms and hands to even out the tan in that area.
  4. I then put on old baggy pajamas and get into bed. Then the next morning I look tan! Yay!
  5. Moisturize: after I shower in the morning, taking care not to scrub my body, I apply the body butter to make sure my tan doesn't flake and also to prolong it. You can use any thick cream but just make sure it doesn't contain a lot of alcohol. Enjoy your day! XO
